Chartered Accountant has been one of the most popular career options in India. It is not easy to enter this profession, but if you manage to do so, it offers a wonderful career, salary and respect among the people. Becoming a Chartered Accountant or CA is one of the toughest professions.

Chartered Accountant or CA is a title used by members of a certain professional accounting institution or association. The job of a CA is to prepare financial accounts, provide financial advice, analyze audit accounts and perform tax related tasks. Accounting of tax payment is also the responsibility of the CA.

Chartered Accountant ie CA is a very prestigious career in India. Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is the national professional accounting body, which conducts the CA exam. The students who clear the final examination of the institute get a good job as a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) in the industry. To do CA, you have to clear three exams. CPT (Entrance Test), IPCC (Intermediate Exam) and Final CA Exam.

To make a career in CA, it starts with the Common Proficiency Test (CPT), only after passing which the student can cross the first stage of his goal and reach the second stage. It consists of four subjects namely Accounting, Mercantile Law, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude.

Integrated Professional Competition Course (IPCC) covers subjects like Accounting, Business and Company Law, Ethics and Communication, Cost Accounting and Financial Management, Taxation, Advance Accounting, IT and Strategic Management etc.

After clearing CPT, students can appear for IPCC exam. For this, students get 9 months of preparation time. After clearing the IPCC exam, students have to work as interns under CA. The student has to do this internship for three years before being eligible for the final examination.

Any student can make a career in CA after passing 12th in commerce stream from a recognized board. Many times students even after graduation make their debut to participate in the CA race. But due to the long duration of CA course, the right time to start CA is only after 12th pass. To prepare for CA, first of all students should have a strong hold in accounting.
