SSC CHSL is a combined competitive examination conducted to select eligible students of higher secondary in various departments and offices of the government. The full form of SSC CHSL is Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination. The long form of SSC CHSL is ‘Staff Selection Commission – Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam’.

It includes Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operator posts. SSC may select and suggest candidates for the posts of Assistant/Clerk through Computer Based Test, Descriptive Paper and Skill Test or Typing Test.

SSC conducts Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL, 10+2) examination for recruitment to various posts such as:

  1. Posting Assistant/Sorting Assistant (PA/SA)
  2. Data Entry Operator (DEO)
  3. Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)
  4. Court Clerk

Eligibility

The eligibility-criteria of SSC CHSL exam mainly depends on 3 factors like age criteria, nationality and educational criteria. that goes:

1. Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian citizen or belong to Nepal/Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January, 1962 to settle permanently in India.

2. Educational Criteria: Must have passed or appearing in Class 12 or its equivalent from a recognized Educational Board or University.

3. Age Criteria: Age should be between 18-27 years. However, some reserved category candidates can claim for reservation as per the norms of Government of India.
